"But the little things in life, the minute moments...not taken for granted, the value of
their treasure is substantial all the more." - Samuel Sumner
A fresh new blog.
I began blogging in 2008 when I received my first DSLR (a Nikon D40) for my 21st where for a good 2-3 years I kept it private and used it as a means to experiment with photography and collate my images, like a visual journal.
When I was in Japan in 2010, I shared it with close friends and family to update them on my life overseas, aptly naming the blog 'Life in Yoko[hama]'. Since arriving back in Sydney, it was renamed 'Found Pieces' and shared on instagram and facebook.
For 2013, I decided to give the blog a new face-lift with a new URL and title, which I plan to stick with.
I want to blog more often for one simple reason: it's fun. I enjoy taking photos. I also enjoy looking at photos. I plan to write more and let this be a space where I can put my thoughts down, share things that interest me and record memories made. Having this blog allows me to see how much I have changed and grown over the years.
I realised when I'm feeling down or going through something difficult I become consumed by it and, as a result, neglect not only this blog but other areas in my life. I tend to retreat and come out when the storm has passed. But I hope this blog will allow me to get up and dance in the rain for it is the minute moments that can bring us unexpected joy and happiness. I suppose in summary this is what my blog is about - appreciating and capturing the minute moments in life, come rain or shine.Welcome :)
Thanks for your comment! I'm discovering your blog :)
